Welcome to the first of my arrow reviews! These are arrows I have personally bought and used extensively.
Huntingdoor – 31 Inch Archery Carbon Arrows, 4″ Fletched Feather, 400 spine.
Carbon arrows are the ultimate in quality, but can be crazy-expensive! I have recently been buying some lesser-known, good value carbon arrows – Chinese brands from Amazon, rather than spend loads of cash on Easton arrows or similar.
I recently bought six of these Huntingdoor arrows – Carbon arrows for recurve and compound bows. I’m very impressed by their performance and appearance. In fact, are they some of the best carbon arrows despite their low price?
My recurve bow, at my draw length pulls 48#. So my arrows had the following statistics to match the poundage:
A shaft length of 31 inches (total length of 32 inches with the arrow tip). The diameter is 7.5 mm and the spine is 400, which means they are suitable for most recurve and compound bows with a draw weight of 40 to 60 pounds. I will do a post on how to choose the right spine and diameter for carbon arrows soon.
I have shot these arrows for several months now at distances of 15 yards to 60 yards, in an informal field archery woodland setting. They have not bent or broken. They are very consistent and accurate, and they penetrate well into the target. They are also easy to pull out and clean. The arrows look and feel very nice and professional, and they have a sleek silvery-grey finish.

Arrow Options
They offer a variety of fletching colours, but I personally liked the 4-inch real feather fletching two green and one white for the cock feather, which look cool and are easy to find if a long shot goes rogue.
The question of real feather fletching vs synthetic fletching depends on your bow setup. I chose feathers because I shoot off the shelf, but they offer plastic vanes if you prefer shooting off a rest or through a whisker biscuit arrow rest.
You can also choose from different arrow tips, such as field points, broadheads, or bullet points, depending on your preference and purpose. I went for field points. Some arrows I’ve bought have needed a bit of glue on the points to keep them in place, but after many months of shooting these I’ve found them to sit really securely in place, and have not lost one.
I love how affordable they are. You can get a dozen of them for less £50, which is an absolute bargain compared to other big-name brands (WAY cheaper than similar Easton carbon arrows for example).
When selecting them for purchase, I noticed a few Amazon reviews mention that the fletching quality was poor, so I was a little worried. At this price I thought I’d take a punt and bought 6, thinking that if there was a problem, Amazon’s return policy is very much geared towards the buyer. However, I did not encounter any problem with mine. The feathers were smooth, well-attached and nicely aligned, and none of them came off or twisted. Maybe I was lucky, or maybe Huntingdoor have improved their quality control since those reviews were written. In any case, based on what I have seen, I do heartily recommend these arrows, and have since ordered myself another 6 for when I inevitably lose some in the woods!
Overall, I am extremely happy with these arrows. I think they are excellent value for money and they shoot well. I would buy them again.
